Explore Your City // Atwater Beach

19 Aug

pic 4_2 Good Morning! How was your weekend? As you can see, Jonathan and I took full advantage of the beautiful weather, and spent our weekend laying on the beach! Today I thought I would write another Explore Your City post, and highlight another amazing Milwaukee spot. Say hello to Atwater beach! Isn’t it wonderful?!

pic 5Atwater beach is a fabulous place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Lake Michigan. It is close to downtown, but also just far enough North that you can get away from the crowds. When you drive up to the location you first see a fun park overlooking the lake. Then when you walk closer, you see a bunch of steps that lead you down to a small, sandy beach. It is a great place to pack a picnic and lay out in the sun. If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend it!

Happy Friday

happy friday_8.16.13_2 Happy Friday friends!  I have to say, I am SO happy it’s the weekend!  It has been a long week, and I am ready to relax and enjoy the beautiful weather.  It is supposed to be warm this weekend so we are hoping to make a trip to the beach.  Have you ever been to Lake Michigan before?  It is crazy how much it looks like an ocean!  I love it! I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Mason Jar Lemonade

Good morning! I am sorry for my lack of posts the past couple of days, we have been so busy!  But I am making it up to you with a really fun post today!  We went on a fun picnic in the park with our neighbors the other night, and it was our job to bring the drinks.  I thought it would be fun to pre-make lemonade in mason jars since they are so cute and can be sealed shut for easy packing!  Here is what I did!

To Make:

– Trader Joes Organic Lemonade

– Slice of Lemon

– Two Mint Leaves

– Mason Jars

– Straws

* We also brought libations to add to the lemonade for if people were interested in having a mixed drink.

Happy Thursday friends!  How is your week going?  Ours has been a little crazy, but I’m excited because tonight we are headed to a fun backyard party with Jonathan’s Wisconsin relatives!  And, I have a yummy peach and plum cobbler baking in the oven to take to the party!  I plan to share the recipe soon!

Today I have another color palette for you!  Some of the hues in this palette are similar to last weeks but there are some other fabulous colors too!  I am just dying over this outfit, and the beautiful coral color!  Have a great day!

Exploring

Since Jonathan and I moved to Milwaukee we have been doing a lot of exploring.  It has been so exciting to have the opportunity to experience a new city, and see all of the fun things it has to offer.

There is a cute little neighborhood near us with some fun shops and restaurants including this great flower shop pictured above.  And, next to the flower shop is a really yummy pizza place (which is quite high on my favorite food list!).  Milwaukee has continued to impress me every day, and I feel pretty lucky to live here!

Happy Wednesday!

Good morning friends!  Today I wanted to share with you an outfit I am obsessed with!  This outfit was highlighted in the new fall collection on Ruche, and I just think it is fabulous!  I love the pants with the red loafers and chambray top!  And, don’t you just love that red lipstick?!  Below I have highlighted the outfit essentials with links to the specific items on Ruche’s website.

Here are some more pretty pins for you to drool over!  I was immediately drawn to the floral photo on the right because of its beautiful contrast between light and dark.  I just love the lightness of the flowers against the black shadows.

August Desktop Calendar

August Calendar 3-01

Well, its that time again!  Here is the new desktop calendar!  This illustration was inspired by my husband’s love of sailing.  Since moving to Milwaukee, and getting the opportunity to be right next to Lake Michigan, we have been thinking a lot about sailing.  Jonathan is even checking craigslist for cheap sailboats!  So here is my tribute to August summer days, and sailing Lake Michigan!  A girl can dream right?!  Happy August friends!

Good morning!  How is your week going so far?  Last night Jonathan and I went to a local movie theater in East Town, and saw The Way Way Back.  Have you heard of it?  It was a really good movie!  I loved it!

Today I have another color palette for you!  I came across this picture, and just had to post it!  I love everything — the sunglasses, the pop of color, everything! I liked seeing the colors from the picture highlighted in the color palette because they seem like such a random assortment, but with just the right balance they look great together!
