Hi friends!  Oh my goodness, I have been M.I.A. lately!  I am so sorry!  Between moving halfway across the country and having to wait forever to get our internet installed, I have been forced to take a major break from blogging.  But it was a great break, and we are now feeling settled in our new place!  Above are some instagrams from our moving journey.  I hope you have a fabulous Monday!

Hello! We still don’t have Internet so I am back at a coffee shop trying to catch up on life! The above picture is a quick peek into our journey from Oregon to Wisconsin! I took this picture of the Mississippi River as we were crossing into Wisconsin!

Alright, I’m off to our house because all our stuff arrives today!

We Made It!

Hi friends! Oh my goodness, after a long journey, we finally made it to Milwaukee!  We drove through eight states to get here!  Can you believe that?!  I have never driven that far before!

We love our house, and are so excited about the neighborhood we chose to live in!  We have spent the last few days exploring, and soaking up as much Wisconsin wonderfulness as possible!  Our stuff is still traveling on a truck somewhere between here and Portland so we are just trying to have as much fun as possible before the real moving in part begins.  The above picture is of a fun pizza restaurant patio near our house.  Aren’t those lights amazing?!

I hope to update you with pictures and stories of our crazy journey soon but we won’t have internet until Friday so posts might be sparse until then!

Happy Monday!

Moving Day

13 Jun

moving day

You guys! Today is moving day! It is so crazy that this day is finally here! The moving truck comes this afternoon, and I am spending the morning finishing all the little last minute things so we are ready to go! Today will be a race to the finish because we will pack up the car, oversee the movers, go to Jonathan’s graduation and then head to Kennewick! We aren’t going to get in until super later, but we figured that was better than sleeping on the floor!

I am packing up my computer today so I am going to have to take a little vacation from blogging until we make it to Milwaukee. But I will be back, I promise! And, I’ll update you on all the crazy adventures we had along the way!

Have a wonderful day!

Color Palette No. 15

color palette no. 15

As Jonathan and I prepare to move to our new city and into our new home, I can’t help but start to make plans for how I want to decorate our new space.  My mind is going crazy with ideas for new design projects and color combinations.  Just today I got a call from our new landlord letting us know they are going to be installing new granite counter tops in our kitchen!  I am SO excited!

So today I thought I would share a new color palette with you in honor of our new house.  I love this picture of blogger, Emily Henderson’s living room.  The brown leather chairs have the perfect combination of modern and cottage chic.  I also love how the room is mostly white with subtle pops of color like the beautiful pink flowers or the gold vases.  And, did you see that amazing blue color painted in the fireplace!  Stunning!

I hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday!

Good morning friends!  How was your weekend?  We packed our lives away, but it feels good to now have a lot of the packing done!  This is our last week in Corvallis (5 days to be exact) so we are racing around to get everything done in time!  I am getting so excited for our big move!

Today, as promised, I have our Strawberry-lime daiquiri recipe for you that I think you will love!

ingredients cover

Strawberry-Lime Daiquiri Recipe:

Ingredients: ice, 1 pint of strawberries, juice from half a lime, 1/4 to 1/2 cup of sugar, 3 leaves of basil, and white rum

Instructions: Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend them up.  If you aren’t drinking them right away, put the mixture in the freezer until you serve them.  *The ingredient measurements are a rough estimate as it will depend on how you want the daiquiris to taste.  Makes 2 to 4 drinks.

This drink is perfect for a summer evening on the patio!  Enjoy!

Goodbye Linn Benton

goodbye linn benton 2

It is time to say farewell to my graphic design program.  Yesterday was my last day of school, and I am so grateful for my time there.  It is funny how when we moved to Oregon I had no idea what this year would hold for me!  Then came along the graphic design program, and totally changed everything!  I owe a lot to the program, and I will miss all the people I met while I was there.

This has been one wild year!  I am excited for the next exciting chapter of our life, but I am still feeling sentimental about this all coming to a close.  Although we never really felt settled in Corvallis, it was still our home for a year, and there are things I am going to miss.  Jonathan and I both agreed, one thing we are definitely going to miss is being so close to the Oregon Coast!  We have made so many wonderful memories there!  But lucky for me, I will be trading the Oregon Coast for the Great Lakes, so I can’t complain too much!  There are also small things I will miss like my favorite running trail and the market by our apartment.

As I am starting to say goodbye to people and places here, I am also reminded of all the new people and places I will discover in Milwaukee.  And, this is a thought I must hold onto as I prepare for our next transition.  Although it is sad to say goodbye, it is also exciting to welcome the new things this next year will bring.  So cheers to this crazy year, and cheers to new adventures!
